It's been a while!

Wow! I see now that it's been close to a year since I last wrote on my Blog. Too much has happened for me to try to talk about it, but I would like to share some stuff.
Already I begin student teaching in a few weeks. It will be my first student teaching semester. My second and final one will begin in January of 2010. I do have to take 2 methods classes this fall as well. I can't believe that I am this close to graduating. I am looking forward to life beyond college, but at the same time, I am intimidated by it all. I am concerned that there will not be any job openings by the time I graduate. With this economy, who knows? I am trying to be brave and think positive, but sometimes it is really hard to do. I just finished my Praxis II exam for licensure, so now I wait 4 weeks for the results.

More flower photos

Here are some photos of various flowers in our yard. I really prefer perennials because they come back every year.

Here is a picture of one of my favorite hanging baskets. It hangs on the back of our house on the deck.

Our garden

With the economy as it is, we decided to increase the size of our garden. We have had a garden every year for the last 15 years, but this year's garden seems all the more important since our economy is becoming so expensive. I don't know about anyone else, but our food bill has gotten bigger as the price of gas has gone up.

We enjoy gardening anyway and this year is no exception. It is looking good despite all of the rain we've had.

I also like to plant flowers as well. I really enjoy seeing something grow from seed to plant.

Going to school

Hi everybody,
I guess you would say that I am a little old to be going to school, but here I am 49 years old and going for a bachelor's degree. I graduated from CCV in 2007 with an associate's degree in liberal studies. With some encouragement, I've decided to go on to Johnson State College for elementary education studies so that I can become an elementary education teacher. I have 4 more semesters left and then I am all done. I am looking forward to graduating. I only hope that there will be a job available when I do!
